Welcome to Kennyhill Community Allotments
Kennyhill Community Allotments are amongst the oldest in Glasgow, with records going back to 1917.
Despite being a second home to many generations of growers, the allotments have seen their share of ups and downs. By the early years of this century, the place was starting to look a bit care worn. However, maybe this is also part of its charm. A number of the run-down plots have been taken over and there is starting to be a new buzz about the place. Our plot holders range from newbies who are learning as they go, to old-timers who are a fount of wisdom: they know their land and the Glasgow weather.
The Riddrie Community Gardens has its home on the site too, with many groups enjoying the facilities that the gardens offer.

Kennyhill Community Allotments is hosting Harvest East, 12-4 pm on Saturday 17 September. Harvest is a celebration of local food in community gardens around south, north, west and, of course, east Glasgow.
Harvest want to get people to connect with the food they eat. Each celebration will feature live music, communal cooking, food sharing, workshops and bike rides to and from the Harvest sites.
Our special workshop is about lasagne growing, a great no-dig, no-aching back method for preparing ground. For the music we hope to have Scottish folk guitarist and singer, Findlay Napier, playing a roaring set of with guests.
Come along for a great free afternoon and get yourself some cake.
